These FAQs address the end of the CSX Manged Backup (Avamar) service and Telstra Virtual Storage (TVS) by NetApp services, due to decommissioning of the CSX platform.

CSX Manged Backup service ending
Q: Can I still buy a new CSX Manged Backup service?
No. New CSX backup services are no longer available.
Existing backup services will become unavailable from 30 November 2024.
Q: How long can I keep my existing CSX backup?
You can keep using your existing backups until the end date: 30 November 2024.
Fees will continue as per your service terms until the above date or until an earlier termination date of your choice.
Q: What happens next?
Someone from our Cloud Specialists and/or Telstra Enterprise Partner team will contact you soon to discuss the end of the service.
You can choose to:
- export your backups and terminate your service; or
- submit a request to destroy your data associated with the service.
Q: What happens after the end date?
After the 30 November 2024, the service and your data will no longer be available. We recommend that you export all your backups at least one month before the service ends to allow enough time.
Q: Can I terminate my service earlier?
Yes. please contact our Service Desk and submit a request to terminate your service.
There will be no Early Termination Charges (ETCs).
Q: Can I export my backups/archived data? How do I do that?
Please contact our Service Desk to get help exporting your backups. Fees may apply.
Q: How can I download my archived data?
You can do this over the internet. Telstra does not have access to your long-term data and can't do this on your behalf.
Q: What are the fees for exporting my backups?
Fees depend on the size of data backed up in the system. We'll give you a quote for fees when you submit your application.
Q: What are my responsibilities before the service ends?
CSX backup is a self-service solution. There will be no change to the service you use today and it will continue until the end of the service. During this phase, if you want to retain your data, we recommend you:
- Plan with enough time, at least one month before the end date, to extract your data
- Restore your data in an alternative destination.
Q: I've had data backed up with a retention period beyond the end date. What do I need to do?
It's your responsibility to restore data to an alternative destination before the end date. We will not be able to assist you to restore your backups after this date. We will not be able to retrieve backups once the tenancy is decommissioned.
After the service ends, can I still access the data and/or restore it?
No. The data will no longer be available after the end date.
Telstra Virtual Storage (TVS) service ending
Q: Can still I buy a new TVS service?
No. New TVS services are no longer available.
Existing backup services will become unavailable from 30 November 2024.
Q: How long can I keep my existing TVS ?
You can keep using your existing backups until the end date: 30 November 2024.
Fees will continue as per your service terms until the above date or until an earlier termination date of your choice.
Q: I have a TVS service that's not associated with CSX. Does my service also stop?
Yes. Your service will also become unavailable on the end date above.
Q: What do I need to do?
After the 30 November 2024, the service and your data will no longer be available. We recommend that you move all your data at least one month before exiting the service to allow enough time.
The service and data will no longer be accessible after the exit date.
Q: What happens next?
Someone from our Cloud Specialists and or Telstra Enterprise Partner team will be in touch with you shortly to discuss the end of the service.
You can choose to:
- Move your data to other storage solution and then terminate your service; or
- Submit a request to destroy your data associated with the service and then terminate your service
Q: Can I terminate my service earlier than the notice period?
Yes. You can submit a request to Cloud Service Desk to terminate your service.
Q: Will there be Early Termination Charges (ETCs)?
No, there are no charges if you decide to exit the service early.
Q: What are my responsibilities before the service ends?
- TVS is a self-service solution. There will be no change to your current service as you can continue to manage your virtual storage as you are now, until the end date.
- If you'd like to to retain your data, we recommend you migrate data at least a month before the end date.
