Q: What are the costs associated with using Telstra Cloud Sight?
Most Cloud Sight features are complimentary for those consuming Azure through Telstra.
There will be costs associated with the consumption of cloud services and add-ons as per the fees specified by each provider. You won’t be charged unless you purchase a service.
See our pricing page for more details.
Q: I used to create new Azure subscriptions via the Cloud Services Portal (mycloud.telstra.com). How do I now create new subscriptions?
It's as simple as clicking on the Add service button on the Cloud Sight home page ('Cloud services' page) and filling out a form. You'll be able to order and access your service within minutes.
See the adding clouds page on the Cloud Sight user guide for more information.
Q: Can I still access the Cloud Services Portal (mycloud.telstra.com)?
Yes, you'll be able to access the Cloud Services Portal for the foreseeable future to access historical data and portal access to other services. However we recommend you use Telstra Cloud Sight for any ongoing Telstra public cloud activities.
Q: Can I still access the Cloud Services Store (buycloud.telstra.com)?
Yes, you'll be able to access the Cloud Services Store for the foreseeable future to buy any cloud services that aren't available on Cloud Sight.
Q: Does Cloud Sight offer federated identity with Azure?
Currently Cloud Sight doesn’t offer federated identity with Azure AD. This capability will be introduced in Oct 2020.
Q: Do I need to create users again or will you migrate users I had on the Cloud Services Store and Portal to Cloud Sight?
You need to create new users on Cloud Sight.
Cloud Sight has a multi-layered user and access management system that allows you to control which users have access and permissions to which parts of Cloud Sight. This gives you the opportunity to gain more control and improve on the single layered (every user was a super user) identity management system that was used in the Cloud Services Store and Portal.
You will also be able to use Azure AD federation in October 2020.
