Q: What's a BYO cloud?
A BYO cloud is a cloud service you've bought from a provider other than Telstra.
Q: How do I add a BYO cloud to Cloud Sight?
You can add the cloud via the Add service button on the 'Cloud services' page. Please select your preferred service (AWS or Azure) from the 'Add existing service' list.

Q: What Cloud Sight features work on BYO clouds?
Currently, the compliance feature is available to all BYO clouds (AWS and Azure).
BYO clouds can access cost management as well if they are linked to a CloudHealth from Telstra service.
Please note that to enable a feature you'll need to manually provide Cloud Sight with certain roles and permissions on your cloud service. In most instances you'll need to run a script to create these roles/permissions. This depends on the type of cloud you're using and the feature you're enabling. Instructions will be provided via the cloud details page as you enable the feature.
Q: What do I need to do to enable features on BYO clouds?
The actions you need to take to enable each feature will differ according to your cloud type and feature. Your cloud details page will link you to instructions, and if necessary, scripts, and guide you through the process of giving Cloud Sight the required permissions.
Q: Can I have both BYO and 'from Telstra' clouds on the same Cloud Sight tenancy?
No. You're currently limited to one cloud type for each service on a tenancy. If you purchase a BYO cloud, you're limited to BYO for that particular cloud service (AWS or Azure). You can have combinations of BYO and 'from Telstra' clouds when they're clouds of a different service.
e.g. If you add a BYO AWS cloud, you won't be able to subsequently add AWS from Telstra to that Cloud Sight tenancy. You can however, have BYO AWS and Azure from Telstra on the one tenancy.
If you want both your BYO and 'from Telstra' clouds on Cloud Sight, you'll need to create two separate Cloud Sight tenancies.
